Clive Wells
Joining my brother Sam in 1985 in his flourishing endeavours at Hobbs House Bakery was the natural progression for my love of the land.
Born in 1957 in Leicester, home of the legendary and much-loved Leicester Tigers, I studied at Cirencester Agricultural College, learning the ancient ways of cows, wheat and food production.
My baking skills were refined in those early days, elbow deep in flour in the small hours, listening to Springsteen on an old cassette player! We are a close knit family held together by our faith in the Lord and our values remain to this day.
I am now looking after the production and despatch of our products at our Chipping Sodbury bakery. Continuing in the tradition, my son delivers bread on a Saturday, and my wife loves to make great coffee in our cafes.
My love of bread (and chocolate brownies) is undiminished with the years. Favourites? Soda seeds and Wild White.
