  • It’s National Craft Bakers’ Week

So we sell piles of delicious confectionery, teach young and old how to cook in our School, display the tastiest meat in the South West in our Butchery, lure the fine people of Nailsworth out for a delicious Bistro meal each weekend, travel the country signing cook books, promote our online sale of 58 year old sourdough starter, and collect awards at glittering ceremonies, but at heart we are a bakery.  Every day we make the simplest loaves, with love and care, and sell them with enthusiasm.  And I think this is what makes Hobbs House Bakery a business worth supporting.

This week is National Craft Bakers' Week (7th – 13th October), which is a campaign to encourage everyone to 'Love their Baker', to visit their local high street craft baker and keep these places alive.

Tom and Henry, as the Fabulous Baker Brothers, are supporting the campaign, and even have a competition running on the National Craft Bakers' Week website to win a masterclass at their Hobbs House Cookery School.

There are so many craft bakeries out there, and any extra effort involved in stepping outside the supermarket door is well worth your while. We love this video.  It sums up the passion involved in running a Liverpool craft bakery:
