Christmas Starters and Second Helpings

This two part course is all about helping you prepare for the festive season 

Christmas Starter - Friday 18th November 6 - 9pm

It's all about the preparation and knowing what you can do ahead of time. On day one we'll be making our Christmas cake as well as making mincemeat, sweet pastry and soaking some boozy fruit ready for the next session where we will be baking, decorating and of course sampling.  You also won't need to worry about storage; we will keep it all safe until the next time

Second Helpings - Sunday 4th December 10 - 2pm

During the second day it's time to construct your creations including our classic mince pies, impressive gingerbread wreaths and of course decorating our classic Christmas cake.Our patisserie expert will be on hand with decorating hints and tips to impress your friends and family. Enjoy being in a relaxed environment with a glass or two of mulled wine whilst knowing you have ticked things off the list.

Information

Our School is located in the heart of Chipping Sodbury above the original Hobbs House Bakery and Butchery on the High Street.

School parking

There is free parking on the opposite side of the road from the Hobbs House Cookery School, places are limited or pay on the School side (max 2hrs stay).Alternatively there is a free 24hr Car park round the back of the school situated on Barnhill Road via Wickwar Road. Follow signs towards Waitrose and the car park can be found on the left hand side. The high street is a 2 minute walk through the link road.

Transport and taxis

The nearest train stations to Hobbs House School are Yate which is 1.7 miles and Bristol Parkway which is 6.6 miles. Chipping Sodbury Taxis are always at hand, 07891 190984.

Dietary requirements & food allergies

Please inform us in advance of any food allergies or dietary requirements so where possible, we can do our best to adapt any refreshments provided to your individual needs.

Access requirements

Our School classrooms are on the first and second floor – accessed by stairs only. If mobility is likely to be a problem, please let us know. We will also do our best to accommodate any physical impairments or learning difficulties – please contact us to discuss.

Accommodation

Should you be travelling from afar, the local area has a great selection of beautiful hotels and guest
houses to rest your weary head. We would recommend the Moda House Hotel or The Rounceval
House Hotel located on the High Street in Chipping Sodbury. Outside of Chipping Sodbury Calcot
Manor is a spa hotel located about 15 minutes from the school and the Cross Hands Hotel is a 5
minute drive from the cookery school.
