Homemade Pesto Recipe

We have been making pesto on our bread making courses for years. Freshly baked soda bread and just made pesto always proves a winning combination. You can throw together this recipe in minutes.

Perfect served with any of our breads or as a topping on our autumn panzanella bread salad

Takes Minutes


  • 1 bunch of watercress

  • 1 handful of parsley

  • 1 clove of garlic

  • 100g grated parmesan

  • 50g toasted hazelnuts

  • 100ml olive oil


  1. Work your arm muscles and make in a pestle and mortar or a big bowl with a rolling pin

  2. Add all the ingredients and pound

  3. For a finer less energetic pesto pop all the ingredients in a food processor
