A new opportunity has been created to join this independent, and highly innovative family bakery based in Chipping Sodbury. Hobbs House Bakeryis an exciting, fifth generation artisan bakery with a thriving wholesale network and six shops across the Cotswolds and Bristol with a thriving wholesale network. Handmade bread for everyone is our mantra – from the iconic Sherston loaf to sourdoughs and spelt loaves, brioche, croissants and our award winning gluten free loaf- our product range is as diverse as our team. We love food and educating our customers on the importance of real bread is at the heart of our business.

The Account Manager role is exciting, rewarding and multifaceted in its scope. Its purpose is to deliver our next stage of sales growth through developing new and existing customers and spreading the awareness of the Hobbs House Bakery brand. We are looking for someone who is ambitious and driven; keen to develop into this role and progress their career within Sales.

The Person

  • This role is sales focused so a passion and hunger to achieve targets is a must.
  • Friendly, personable and a willingness to seek out opportunities to build business in partnership with our customers is paramount in this role.
  • We’re looking for an individual who enjoys taking the initiative, is comfortable conversing with customers, and confident to negotiate within given parameters.
  • High level of IT skills is extremely beneficial, as individuals will be dealing with various in-house systems as well as needing to produce your own sales reports.
  • You will have a natural interest in artisan food and beverages and experience gained working with food or drink brands is a benefit.
  • Comfortable working in a busy, fast moving environment you will be happy to cope with pressure, be flexible and able to multi-task proficiently.
  • Marketing literate with a strong interest in building brands.
  • Customer Service is a premium in dealing with both the customer and when helping colleagues.
  • A great sense of humour
  • A full clean driving licence

The Job

  • The role is predominantly based in the field creating sales and servicing customers but there will be some time based at the bakery interacting with the sales team and helping to shape business development plans.
  • Developing, maintaining and building relationships with new and existing customers
  • Completing monthly sales reports and maintaining personal development goals; presenting to the Sales Manager and Director monthly
  • Giving sales presentations and pitching to prospective new clients
  • Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programmes
  • Customer service with a varied customer base from independents (restaurants, pubs, farm shops) through to supermarkets, small pub groups and high-end retail accounts where customer service is a must.
  • Representing the brand at customer training sessions, product tastings and events.

Contractual Hours of Work: Monday – Friday 8am - 5pm (willing to work outside these hours on occasion)

Salary: £22,000.00 to £26,000.00 /year

Delivery & Returns


We use Priority Express as our main courier service. For smaller and our through the letterbox range, we use Royal Mail. Our aim is for you to receive your items as safely and securely as possible and we use Priority Express to help us with this.

The couriers deliver anytime between 8.00am and 6.00pm on your chosen delivery date although are generally delivered before 4.00pm. If you supply an email address, you will be able to live track your package via Priority Express' updates. Wednesdays and Fridays as our designated delivery days.

Orders can only be taken up to noon on Monday for Wednesday delivery and noon on Wednesday for Friday delivery, just in time for the weekend.

Delivery is an overnight service, however anything outside of Mainland Scotland will take an additional 1-2 days and may incur an additional charge - for more details please contact us before placing your order. We class Monday - Friday as working days. Saturdays and Sundays are not included in this calculation.

We will accept any cancelled orders (excluding courses/vouchers) or changes to delivery date if notified by 10.00am the day before delivery is due. Please contact our Sales Team on 01454 321629 or by email to discuss anything with your order.


We want you to feel totally happy with your goods, so if you have any concerns or queries please get in touch with us. We are happy to replace items broken during transit or if the item does not meet your expectation. We must be notified within 14 days of arrival.
