Our story
We are a fifth generation family business that has been baking the finest bread, cakes and pastries since 1920. Throughout the last 100 years we have been committed to being the very best for our people, communities and environment. We are the only British bakery to be a Certified B Corporation which means that we use our business as a force for good. B Corps are a global community that put people and the planet first.
 
Our delicious, handmade products are enjoyed in our five shops and right across the South West and beyond. Find them in farm shops, delis, restaurants and cafes. We are proud to work with many customers that share our values of sustainability and quality such as The National Trust, Boston Tea Party,  and Gloucester Services.
 
Our bakery
We are a friendly and busy bakery making a wide range of artisan sourdoughs, overnight doughs, rolls, and speciality bread; many of which are award winning. Our confectionary team make a wide range of delicious loaf cakes, tray bakes and pastries.

The role

The night shift prepares a wide range of products including overnight doughs, artisan breads and roll production. There is a significant amount of hand moulding and oven work undertaken and you will be expected to be able to work as part of the team on multiple tasks. All our beautiful confectionery items are baked off during this night and it is likely that our new team member will become responsible for these.

The perfect candidate will:

  • Have good attention to detail.
  • Be flexible, adaptable, self–motivated and be able to work as part of a team.
  • Be dextrous and able to work accurately at a high pace.

Ideally you will be a have experience of working as a baker in a similar environment however, attitude is more important than experience. Full training will be given and development into further roles is possible.

Working hours are Sunday to Friday 8pm - 4am (37.5 hours) with a day off on Tuesday and Saturday.

The salary offered will be competitive and depend on experience.
