    Property Maintenance Apprentice

    Property Maintenance Operative  - Level 2 Apprenticeship

    Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm

    We are looking to recruit a Property Maintenance Apprentice to join our small but dedicated Maintenance team. You will be required to assist in the smooth running of the Main Bakery, Offices, Cookery School, and our 4 retail outlets.

    As a Property Maintenance Apprentice, you will interact with the Maintenance team, specialist trades people, landlords and property owners, and the staff that work within or residents that occupy buildings. Property Maintenance Operatives assist in the location of repair works to be carried out, and to obtain further information and clarification as required by the customer. You will use a range of information gathering and communication techniques to do this, whilst recording and reporting information in a variety of ways including using digital technology. Whilst much of the time may be working inside the buildings, operatives will be regularly required to work outside, conducting maintenance and repairs to properties. This will include external drainage, brick and blockwork, glazing, fencing and groundworks.

    Day to day work within the Maintenance team at Hobbs House Bakery is varied, but responsibilities include:

    • Minor Electrical problems (equipment testing, 240v issues, plug and fuse repairs/replacements
    • Painting and decorating (general internal and external upkeep)
    • Plumbing (tap repairs, toilet repairs, water supply issues)
    • Bakery machinery and equipment (general upkeep, cleaning and servicing)
    • Building fabric maintenance (door strip curtains, doors and windows, general ground maintenance, daily update of maintenance schedule, issuing maintenance requests, inputting completed paper job sheets to computerized maintenance schedule)

     

    Hobbs House Bakery was established in the Cotswolds in the 1920s and we are a true family business, with 5 generations of baking experience. We are now bringing up the 6th generation of aspiring bakers.
