Grains, Milling and Sourdough with Tom Herbert

  • Here at Hobbs House Bakery, we are constantly seeking to improve and develop our bread. Spend the day, with Tom, looking to produce 'The World's Healthiest Loaf!' The day will begin with the opportunity to mill different grains which will feature in the final loaf, as well as showing you how freshly milled grains can be used in your every day baking.

An action packed one day bread making course

We will be baking with our 64 year old sourdough starter as well as discussing other methods of fermentation and how they can improve your gut health.

Freshly milled grains will be key to baking a variety of different breads. You’ll gain invaluable bread making know how, learning what you knead to know  to enable you to recreate these delicious loaves at home. Aspiring to 'The world's healthiest loaf' with our 64 year old sourdough, the day will also be filled with alternative baking methods including corn bread and the humble crispbread. All washed down with a freshly milled rye and chocolate brownie.

As always, Tom will ensure that you go home with a wealth of knowledge as well as a bag full of delicious goodies to share with family and friends.
