Sourdough Baking Online Course

  • All you need is flour, salt, water and time. We provide the ingredients, you provide the kitchen and together we will take the time.

    Working with sourdough can be a tricky skill to master, but with our help you’ll be baking award winning sourdough loaves in no time!

    Whether you’re completely new to sourdough, or want to learn the Hobbs House Bakery method for baking amazing sourdough bread this course is the perfect opportunity to get involved.

    We’ll be guiding you from choosing the right ingredients, using the no knead method and shaping the dough, as well as making sourdough bagels. This course will be spread over 2 days; 4 hours on the first day, and the opportunity to come back the following morning for an hour to bake your loaf. You really will get the whole experience and we’ll be with you every step of the way.

    There will also be the opportunity for a sourdough Q and A to help understand the theory behind the concept of sourdough baking.

  • We will send you the ingredients and equipment you need for your baking experience beforehand and will guide you through each step via a video link.

    Just because you can’t come to us, doesn’t mean we can’t come to you!

  • Joining Instructions

    Once you have purchased your place we will send you all you need to know to prepare for the day.

    Make sure you add your postal address so that we can send out your ingredients and kit in plenty of time.

  • Your Baking Bundle

    One week before your course date you will receive your box this will include; a Sourdough Starter, a Small Banneton, 1kg Dark rye flour, 1kg White Bread Flour, 1kg wholemeal flour, a Dough Scraper and a Tea Towel.

    Your Baking Session

    24 hours before the course we'll email you with your link to join our Zoom baking class. Please make sure you have downloaded the most up to date Zoom app and have tested it prior to the course.
