In a separate bowl, mix together the egg and golden syrup, then add to the dry ingredients.
Mix together until it forms a soft dough. Tip out onto a clean work surface and knead for a minute or two until the dough is smooth.
Pre-heat the oven to 180C
Roll out the dough to the thickness of a pound coin and cut out shapes with cookie cutters. If you want to hang them on the tree remember to punch out a hole at the top, a straw is really good for this.
Lay the biscuits onto a greased baking tray or baking parchment and bake for 10 – 15 minutes until golden brown.
Leave to cool before decorating with icing and sprinkles. Thread with ribbon and hang them on your tree.
