A gluten free loaf packed with healthy ingredients. This award-winning gluten free loaf is like no other. Uncompromising in its ingredients, flavour & texture.
Our aptly named GiFt loaf is the winner of the awards; Britain’s Best Loaf, Gluten Free loaf of the year.
Our customers have been asking us to make one for ages, so at the end of last year we built ourselves a dedicated gluten free bakery and after 39 batches we’ve got it.
This loaf is no compromise for Hobbs House Bakery, no it doesn’t taste like cardboard and no it isn’t packed full of a list of ingredients you would rather not eat. Instead this loaf is full of the good stuff, made primarily from sorghum flour (a plant based flour) and teff flour (one of the world’s smallest gluten free grains). Loaded with fibrous seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds and with the addition of chickpea sourdough and nutritious psyllium husks this loaf is a great healthy alternative for everyone. We worked closely with our friends at Boston Tea Party to get this loaf just right to make their great sandwiches (see their picture).
Our Gluten Free Bread loaf has been named GiFt. It is our gift to you but primarily through this loaf we are able to give bread to children in Tanzania. We have been working alongside the charity Ifakara Bakery Project. Through a bakery set up in Ifakara, bread is donated to malnourished children.

Sorghum Flour - Is the fifth most important cereal crop in the
world, largely because of its natural drought tolerance and
versatility as food, feed and fuel.
Organic Tapioca Starch - A staple of Indigenous people of
South America and found in the snack Skips.
Chickpea Flour - A.K.A. Gram flour, is very high in protein
we’ve used it to make a sourdough that gives great flavour and
a superb crust to GiFt.
Chia Seeds - Are mighty good for us. A rich source of B
vitamins, FUN FACT? Chia seeds are hydrophilic, absorbing
up to 12 times their weight in liquid when soaked.
Organic Flax Seeds - A.K.A. Linseed, Flaxseeds are especially
rich in thiamine, magnesium and phosphorus are a good
source of dietary fibre and Omega 3, 9 & 6 fatty acids.
Psyllium Seed Husks - are a great source of soluble dietary
fibre, they are hygroscopic, which allows them to expand and
become mucilaginous which really help bind GiFt together.
