Sutton Coldfield hosted the first Ask the Adviser event, organised by the supportive team at Families in Business. With Hobbs House bakery's Trevor Herbert as guest speaker, the day was a great success, many reporting his talk to have been inspiring. Trevor is a spokesperson for Families in Business.
Dani Saveker shared her thoughts on the success of the day:
“I first thought of the Ask the Adviser concept for family businesses a couple of years ago based on my own experience and frustration when trying to access good advisers to help me take our family business forward. Time is a limited resource and so having a room of assorted advisers on hand for confidential discussions is very powerful. Whilst it’s a little like speed dating for SME family-owned businesses, we’re delighted with the reaction and value it gives to family businesses and also to the advisers.
As the first ATA event, we wanted to have a fitting guest speaker and for us, the choice was simple – it had to be Trevor. Trevor, as one of our FIB Champions, has been a great supporter, friend and advocate of our approach and for the family business sector as a whole. We were privileged to have him be part of Ask the Adviser with our guests and advisers all feeling inspired by the story of Hobbs House Bakery.”
