Apprenticeships
The growth of our apprenticeship programme has been fantastic.
We’re particularly proud of the relationships we’ve built with local schools, offering work experience placements with the aim of welcoming school leavers into apprenticeships here at Hobbs House Bakery.
Since July 2022, 13 employees have successfully completed their apprenticeship programmes, across a mix of Baker Level 2 and Food & Drink Process qualifications. We’re proud that a further 14 colleagues are already enrolled on additional programmes, including Property Maintenance and the much-anticipated Baker Level 3. It’s so popular that we have a waiting list, with 5 team members starting this summer, meaning almost 17% of our workforce has either completed, is currently undertaking, or is about to start an apprenticeship!
Work Experience & Placements
At Hobbs House Bakery, we are passionate about more than just baking. We are equally committed to supporting our local communities and inspiring the next generation of bakers.
We are proud to offer students the opportunity to gain real insights into bakery life. We work closely with local secondary schools, colleges, and other organisations to provide meaningful work experience placements that help young people explore the baking industry as a potential future career path.
We also support people who may have barriers to employment, working with South Gloucestershire Council and local charities to offer placements that provide meaningful insight into the working world and help build confidence and skills.
