We're excited to announce that as of the 1st September 2025, our bakery is entirely nut-free. While we previously used allergen controls, and alibi labelling there was always still a risk of cross-contamination that made "may contain nuts" labelling necessary.
Ultimately, we’ve made the decision to go nut-free to help protect vulnerable members of our community, with 1 in 50 UK adults and 1 in 20 children living with nut allergies. We all know that even the tiniest trace of nuts can cause severe, and sometimes even fatal reactions.
One of our key goals as a business is to make real bread accessible to as many people in our communities as possible. Making this change felt like the natural next step on that journey.
After all these years, it’s time to say goodbye to a favourite... Our Almond Croissant has had a good run, but we think it’s only fair to let it retire with grace! As we move toward a nut-free bakery, we said farewell to our Almond Croissants. But don't worry, our team of bakers have worked hard to create our new Granola Crunch Croissant - a crunchy, nutty all butter croissant... without the nuts!
We’re so grateful to have such loyal customers, both across the country and right here in our local shops. If you’re a regular at our HHB shops in Bristol or the Cotswolds, you’ll know that our teams bake all the cakes, pastries, and other treats on the counter fresh, in-store. That’s why we’ve decided to continue using nuts in our shops, even as we move toward a nut-free bakery for our online and wholesale customers.
