Black Pudding Sausage Roll Recipe

Our black pudding sausage roll recipe comes from episode 2 (season 1) of The Fabulous Baker Brothers. Made by Henry, a butchers sausage roll using pork  and black pudding. Unfortunately Henry’s black pudding sausage roll recipe did loose out to Tom’s fiery chorizo sausage roll recipe.

Serves 6

Ingredients

  • 500g good-quality pork sausage meat
  • Few sprigs parsley, chopped
  • ½ tsp ground mace
  • 3 tbsp English mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 200g black pudding, crumbled
  • Few sprigs of sage, leaves picked and chopped
  • ½ tsp cayenne
  • 1 x 500g packet shop-brought puff pastry

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C/gas mark 5. In a large bowl mix the pork mince, black pudding, parsley, sage, mace, cayenne pepper and mustard with a good pinch of salt and black pepper. Mix well and squidge together.
  2. Roll the block of pastry out into a large rectangle 40 x 30cm. Put the filling down the middle in a neat sausage shape, and square off the edges of the pastry.
  3. Roll the pastry over the meat then pull the other side of the pastry up on top. Square off the ends then turn the roll over so the fold is underneath.
  4. Divide into 6, then slash each sausage roll a few times and brush with beaten egg. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes until golden brown.

Delivery & Returns

Delivery

We use Priority Express as our main courier service. For smaller and our through the letterbox range, we use Royal Mail. Our aim is for you to receive your items as safely and securely as possible and we use Priority Express to help us with this.

The couriers deliver anytime between 8.00am and 6.00pm on your chosen delivery date although are generally delivered before 4.00pm. If you supply an email address, you will be able to live track your package via Priority Express' updates. Wednesdays and Fridays as our designated delivery days.

Orders can only be taken up to noon on Monday for Wednesday delivery and noon on Wednesday for Friday delivery, just in time for the weekend.

Delivery is an overnight service, however anything outside of Mainland Scotland will take an additional 1-2 days and may incur an additional charge - for more details please contact us before placing your order. We class Monday - Friday as working days. Saturdays and Sundays are not included in this calculation.

Ordering

We want you to feel totally happy with your goods, so if you have any concerns or queries please get in touch with us. We are happy to replace items broken during transit or if the item does not meet your expectation. We must be notified within 14 days of arrival.
